    Social networking has become a powerful tool to not only collaborate with peers and connect with people whom you don’t normally contact, but it is also a powerful B2C tool. In particular, restaurants and other retail businesses now can reach out to customers in a quick, easy fashion.

    Today I was at a restaurant and had some terrible service to begin with. So I tweeted about it. Within minutes, the official twitter account for that restaurant came back and asked me to email the manager and apologized for the service. This is the future of marketing, friends. To think that I can quickly look up a business and say something about it and the business reaches people at a direct, personal level? It was unthinkable 5 years ago.

    Businesses – get on this bus.
