Being in Portland has introduced me to many beers, especially IPAs and stuff that has probably too many hops for my taste. But I’ve opened myself up more to these bitter tasting, fruit infused, indian pale ales.

One of the breweries in Bend is called “Deschutes” Brewery, named after the river that runs north and south through the city. They have about 22 craft beers available on draft, and all of them are extremely exotic. My favorite beers included the Hefe and the pale ale, but the porter was pretty good too.

In general, my favorite beers have more wheat flavor and are less hoppy. But ales aren’t bad. Stuff you could find at the grocery store mostly: Newcastle, Bass, Blue Moon.
